A handcrafted end-grain chopping board featuring a striking basket-weave optical illusion design. Built in my Moss Vale workshop from premium hardwoods and finished with food-safe mineral oil and beeswax.


A centrepiece that defies the eye. This isn’t just a chopping board; it’s a masterclass in precision woodworking. Featuring a complex basket-weave pattern, this board creates a stunning 3D "woven" optical illusion that is guaranteed to be the talking point of your kitchen.


THE ARTISTRY OF THE WEAVE Creating a basket-weave pattern requires meticulous attention to detail and hours of patience. Every individual block is precision-cut and hand-aligned in my Moss Vale workshop to ensure the "over-under" pattern is seamless.

  • The Reclaimed Story: By using premium reclaimed hardwoods, I give a second life to timber with incredible character and history. These salvaged timbers are seasoned and stable, offering a density and durability that new-growth wood simply can’t match.

    • Natural Contrast: I hand-select contrasting species from my reclaimed collection to create the deep shadows and bright highlights that make the weave pattern "pop" off the surface.

  • Sustainable Strength: Crafted from solid reclaimed hardwoods, selected for their durability and natural antibacterial properties.

    • Silky Smooth Finish: Hand-sanded to a high-grit finish and seasoned with my custom workshop blend of food-grade mineral oil and natural beeswax.

    • Substantial Feel: approximately (pattern alignment) 45cm x 30 cm x 3.4 cm — built with enough weight to stay put on your bench-top during heavy prep.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
